Communication & Outreach Committee

To plan, create and manage all CAI Wisconsin Chapter marketing and public relations activities; and to improve the chapter’s membership growth through the recruitment of new members and retention of current members. To oversee and coordinate the chapter’s social media outlets.

Conference & Tradeshow Committee

  1. Assist Chapter Executive Director in site selection.
  2. Coordinate conference & trade shows’ educational activities with the Education and Program Committee Chair, including determination of programs that complement the Education and Program committee’s schedule. Additionally, the Conference & Trade Show Committee may solicit the help of the Education and Program Committee in identifying and securing speakers and presenters.
  3. Assist Chapter Executive Director in drafting the trade show floor plans.
  4. Create sub-committees that will focus on the following:
    1. Exhibitor Sub-committee to identify and obtain commitments from business partners to exhibit and sponsor events.
    2. Manager Sub-committee to call on key management companies to present the benefits of manager attendance, management company exhibiting and participating, and to ask managers to distribute conference & trade show marketing information to their board member clients at their monthly board meetings prior to the Conference & Trade Show.
    3. Marketing Sub-committee to develop conference & trade show promotional brochures and flyers and identify local media and other opportunities to promote the event.
    4. Site Sub-committee to coordinate all events with hotel staff including hours of show, securing exhibit hall and education rooms, choice and timing of food and beverages, and audio/video needs.
  5. Develop a campaign of mailings and E-mailings to members and prospects.
  6. Volunteer time during the conference & trade shows as needed.

Education & Programs Committee

a. Develop the annual calendar of programs and events (January 1 through December 31)
b. Work with Chapter Executive Director to select sites for each program.
c. Select speakers for educational programs.
d. Follow-up with speakers for presentation files and program agendas.
e. Collect all required documentation for recording and presentation distribution.
f. At least one Committee Member shall be in attendance at all programs.
e. Determine budget for programming, on an annual basis, for approval by the Board of Directors.

Golf Outing Committee

a. Select the site and make recommendations to the Chapter Board for it's approval.
b. Determine pricing for sponsorships and golfers.
c. Solicit sponsorship for the event.
d. Review the contracts before submitting to Chapter Board for approval.
e. Choose the menus for the outing.
f. Be present at the event registration.
g. Solicit Raffle prize donations.
h. Be available on the day of outing to sell raffle tickets.
i. Committee Members are expected to attend the Golf Outing.

Magazine Committee

  1. Oversee the editorial content of Chapter publications
  2. Determining the major subject areas for future issues of Chapter publications
  3. Seeking and identifying possible writers for each issue and topic; these authors may include member of the Committee
  4. Seeking and soliciting possible advertisers for the magazine.
  5. Assuring that the established publication schedule is adhered to
  6. Reviewing and editing articles and columns for each issue
  7. Drafting, reviewing and recommending any changes needed in the Editorial Policy of the Chapter; and additional items set by the Committee as a whole and/or the Board of Directors
  8. Setting and regularly reviewing the financial aspects of any contractual relationships relating to publication into which the Chapter enters
  9. Drafting, reviewing and recommending any needed changes in the advertising policy of the Committee and the Board
  10. Confirm contact information is correct by corresponding with current members.
  11. Direct Chapter Executive Director to produce the annual Membership Directory.
  12. Review and approve the draft Membership Directory
  13. Acting as a “sounding board” for various policy decisions on Chapter publications
  14. Making any recommendations viewed as necessary to the Committee and to the Board; and additional items set by the Committee as a whole and/or the Board of Directors.

Legislative Action Committee

a. Comply with the CAI National guidelines for LACs (e.g., nominations, budgets, etc.)
b. Monitor all legislation that will impact condominium and HOA Homeowners in Wisconsin.
c. Represent Wisconsin condominium and HOA homeowners' interests.
d. Pr-actively establish and maintain connections with WI legislators and introduce them to CAI.
e. Write articles for the Chapter's magazine on LAC activities.
f. Send out email blasts as necessary to keep the membership aware of the LAC's activities.
